Frequently Asked Questions 

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

The repair time varies demanding on how much damage has occurred to your vehicle. We are not in the business of storing cars and we do not receive payment until the job is complete. So our goal is to get your vehicle back to pre-accident condition quickly and efficiently. We never let a vehicle leave unless we know 100% that it is safe and repaired correctly. If you ever have any questions about how much longer the repair will take, feel free to give us a call.  

Do I have to pay my deductible?

The collision repair industry is highly regulated by the insurance companies. So it is not usually profitable to waive deductibles and still repair the vehicle correctly. Shops that offer that they will save your deductible are usually ripping off you and the insurance company both. Chances are that they are failing to repair parts of the vehicle, like non-visible damage; or they are using inferior parts and untrained labor to complete the repairs.

Do you offer a lifetime warranty?

Tracy’s Auto Body offers lifetime warranties on all repairs. This includes everything that we repaired on your vehicle for as long as you own your vehicle. This warranty includes all paint refinishing, body work, frame work, and replacement parts. In the rare case that anything part of the repairs fails just bring it back and we will take a look. Saying that, this doesn’t make our repairs bullet proof, and our warranty does not cover future collision damage or normal wear and tear.

Where are you located?

We are located on at 6275 S Kyrene road, Tempe, Arizona 85283. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5 PM. We know that you have a busy schedule and if these times do not work out for you we can schedule another time to have your vehicle looked at or dropped off.  Also if you need help with a ride back home or to work or would like us to pick up or deliver your vehicle just let us know, we are happy to accommodate you.

What are OEM parts?

OEM parts are replacement parts that are manufactured by the same manufactured that built your vehicle. So if you have a Chevy the OEM replacement part was also manufactured by Chevy (GM).

Do I have to go to the shop that the insurance company “suggests”?

In no case must you go to one shop over another because your insurance company wants you to. In the state of Arizona it is illegal for any insurance company to tell you where you can and cannot go to get your vehicle repaired. They may try hard to push you towards one shop or another but it is only so that they can save a little money. At Tracy’s Auto Body we work with all insurance companies no matter how big or small. Even if our estimate comes up different thand theirs we will work out the differences and you will not be required to pay the difference the estimates.

Do I need an appointment for an estimate?

No, you may stop by anytime Monday - Friday from 8AM to 5PM for a free estimate. We use computer estimating and the process takes 5 to 10 minutes, depending on what the amount of damage is done. While you are getting an estimate enjoy a complementary bottle of water and current periodicals, the newspaper, and a television. If people of your busy schedule you cannot come in for an estimate at during our normal hour we are willing to accommodate you, just call 480-897-6956 and we set up an appointment.

Do I have to get more than one estimate?

Arizona law does not require to you get more than one estimate and you may go to the shop of your choice. The insurance company may want to look at your vehicle and that is fine. They cannot however tell you where to go. At Tracy’s Auto body we work with all insurance companies and you will not be subject to additional fees for not going to the shop that the insurance company recommends.

How long do I have to wait until I wash my car?

Since we bake our paint it can be hand washed immediately. We recommend that you avoid automatic car washes for at least a month. 

Can I sign over the insurance check to Tracy's Auto Body?

Yes you can. You do not have to go through the trouble of depositing the money and then have to issue us payment. If the insurance company issues a check you may just sign it over to us. 

Do you have a shuttle service? 

Yes we do provide a complementary shuttle service to our customers. Also, if you are renting a car, the rental car company will pick you up at our location and take you back to their offices to get you into a rental car. When the repairs are complete drive back to the rental car place and they will close out your paperwork and provide you with a ride back to Tracy's Auto Body.
